Participants examined the global economic meltdown and how it has changed views on the economy, the role of the state, and public policy. The theme of this year's conference was "Guardians of Our Communities, from Local to Global." Saturday, September 11 at 12:30 PM ET / 9:30 AM PT On August 23rd, Kevin Lynch, former Clerk of the Privy Council and Secretary to Cabinet, addressed the conference in a session on innovation. In his speech, Lynch examined the role creativity can play in addressing the innovation deficit in Canada.
